About the Author
Dennis Utley, M.D. is a retired obstetrician-gynecologist whose four-decade career spanned clinical practice, hospital leadership, and medical education. Over the course of thousands of surgeries and deliveries, he became known for his humor, integrity, and gift for teaching.
Throughout his career, Dr. Utley was recognized for blending science with humanity. His interest in practical psychology and in understanding what motivates human behavior proved invaluable. He led teams, mentored medical students, and championed teamwork-patient-centered care. Those experiences shaped his understanding of how people think, believe, and make decisions that carry real-world consequences.
After retiring to the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Utley turned from physical healing to another pressing need in modern society: examining how misinformation, fear, and ego can damage both individual minds and relationships.
His debut work, Villains and Victims: A Physician’s Search for Truth in an Age of Deception, weaves his professional insight, personal experience, and Christian faith into a searching reflection on integrity, discernment, and hope.
He continues to write, mentor, and enjoy the Pacific Northwest that inspires him.
